Christmas Movie Formula?

I've recently gone through all of the Christmas Movies I know and created a tier list to display them.

However, this has got me thinking, is there a formula filmmakers could use to create a guaranteed Christmas Movie Success??

Just from my list I start to notice that my Legendary Tiered films all have; snow, presents, fun, danger, a change of heart, some form of Santa, e.t.c. Since the list goes on, I think it would be possible to create guidelines for this genre and any genre of film for that matter.

Yet as Filmmakers, we should recognize why these formulas work and then challenge them with new, creative thinking and experiment with cross-genre films to create a truly imaginative piece of work.
