Universal Genres

I am interested to know what you all think is the most UNIVERSAL genre.

When considering what genre of film to make, I think you should consider the size of the audience you want to attract.

For instance; I think that horror is the most universal genre because you don’t necessarily need to understand what the characters are saying in order to feel frightened or scared. Usually it is the sound track that evokes fear and dread.

However, other genres like romance and comedy might also be considered quite universal because most if not all of us understand what it means to laugh or fall in love.
